How do I enroll?

Georgia Ports Authority offers multiple options for benefits enrollment, including online and by paper form.  For more information on how to enroll, please click here.

If you prefer not to enroll online or are enrolling for the first time outside of Open Enrollment, you may complete your benefits enrollment using a paper form.  You will need to print, complete, and return the form to the Benefits office.  Click here to download the form.


Who is eligible for employee coverage?

Full-time employees scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week are eligible for coverage with no waiting period.


When does dependent coverage begin?

Eligible dependents are covered starting the same day the employee becomes eligible, provided they meet the plan’s requirements.


Who qualifies as a dependent under the plan?

Eligible dependents include your legally married spouse and your children under age 26, including stepchildren, adopted children, foster children, and legal wards. Certain disabled children over age 26 may also qualify with proper documentation.


Can I cover a dependent who lives outside the U.S.?

No, dependents must reside in the United States to be eligible for coverage.


What’s the process for covering a disabled child past age 26?

The child must have been enrolled in the plan before turning 26, meet specific disability criteria, and be considered disabled by the Social Security Administration.  Proof must be submitted within 30 days of their 26th birthday.


What happens if I get married, have a child, or experience another life change?

You have 31 days from a qualifying life event to make benefit changes, such as adding or removing a dependent.


What wellness programs are available to employees?

Programs include on-site fitness classes, wellness challenges, health screenings, tobacco cessation, and more.


Are there medical services available on-site?

Yes.  Employee Health Services offers services like physicals, blood pressure checks, allergy shots, wound care, vision and hearing screenings, and more.  Some procedures (like mole removal) may also be available.


What is the Disease Management Program?

Offered through St. Joseph’s/Candler, it provides support for conditions like asthma, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, tobacco cessation, and more.


Can I get prescriptions filled on-site?

Yes. A generic Rx clinic coordinated by St. Joseph’s/Candler offers 90-day maintenance prescriptions for employees and spouses at no cost.  Click here to view the Rx clinic formulary list.


What is Healthgram Connect and how can they help me?

Healthgram Connect provides an advisor that will help you find in-network providers, understand coverage, estimate costs, and resolve billing or claims issues.  Call 866-904-9081 or visit members.healthgram.com.


What is ALEX® and how does it work?

ALEX is an online benefits tool that helps you choose the best plans based on your needs and costs. It’s private, mobile-friendly, and helps with everything from dental to retirement planning.


Is ALEX® available for Medicare questions too?

Yes. ALEX Medicare guides you through understanding and choosing Medicare options with the same ease as regular ALEX.


How often can I get a physical exam through GPA?

Full-time employees are eligible for one free annual physical through Employee Health Services.


Where can I access my health records and plan details?

You can log in to your Healthgram portal at members.healthgram.com to access your health history, plan information, wellness tools, and more.
